At the speed of life

What a weird and wonderful week it’s been.  Full of family, friends, hospital stays, memories and my birthday.  A lot of life all stacked up at once.  Thank you all for the birthday wishes.  They are very much appreciated.

As for me, the song remains the same.  My hCG test results came this week and revealed no change at all.  That’s ok but I had my hopes up for at least a small drop.  So this means I need to work much harder to drop that level.

This week we had dinner with our friends Paul, his wife Darlene and their 7 children.  We love them so much – it was a blast.  And then The Former Boyfriend took me to one of my favorite restaurants, Trattoria Roma for my birthday dinner.  Here’s the link if anyone is interested in the restaurant www.trattoria-roma.com . Everything was fabulous and intimate.

After dinner

Last night we went to Brew-Stirs in Clintonville to see Anna and her brother Tim sing.  There were maybe 40 people there, a small performance in a warm, dark bar.  I wish I could convey the atmosphere better.  Anna is an important part of my healing.  She has been my massage therapist for almost 3 years. Anna is a healer – she works very hard soothing body and soul.  She also has a beautiful voice and harmonizes well with her brother.  I thought I’d have a photograph of them, but the bar was too dark…great little dive bar if you’re in the neighborhood.

And finally, those of you who pray… we’re asking for prayers once again.  Our Brother-in-Law Brian had surgery on Wednesday and is recovering in a hospital in Virginia.  He’s in a lot of pain and will remain in-patient for a few more days.
That's Tony Dungy on the left, he and Brian went to the same high school

It is yet another reminder to enjoy the present moment and hold on tight to the ones you love.  Happy Weekend!
