Always something

It has been yet again another crazy week.  Johnny has been feeling crappy all week – a lot of pain and nausea. I started to worry that he had picked up a “super bug”- maybe even one I brought home from the Hospital, but he does not have a fever. Tuesday he didn’t even go into the office (very rare for him).   Now I’m starting to wonder if he has what is referred to as “Tumor Fever.”  It’s not uncommon and is caused when tumors become necrotic (die) and you end up with dead tissue in the liver and colon which can cause inflammation and who knows what else.  Johnny has been in contact with his Oncologist this week and he will go in for a scheduled scan next week.  Until then I’m trying very hard to distract myself.

And as I rushed home from work on Tuesday to check on Johnny I saw the police were parked in front of our house. WTF!  Johnny and the Officer were speaking on the front stoop. It turns out that some “tree trimmers sans equipment” were going door to door.  These same “tree trimmers” had been seen parked in a white pickup truck in front of our home right before the burglary.  Sadly by the time the police arrived they were gone.  The good news – we have amazing neighbors who are taking/circulating their pictures and won’t hesitate to call the police.

To keep our minds distracted we turned to the Perseid meteor showers.  They peaked last night but the bright moon made the early ones hard to see.  Our plans were to go out after moon set and take advantage of the peak.  It turned out that we were just too tired.  Maybe tonight, it is supposed to be one of the best stargazing shows for years.

And another fabulous distraction has been the Olympics.  Watching Michael Phelps the greatest Olympic athlete ever compete live has been so special.  And finally, to all our family members that we will get to see this weekend – we can’t wait.  Love you all.
