Opa! We made it to the Greek Festival. And to Barley’s
too. Jeannie managed to put away just about all of a big ass gyro. She had a
bite of my souvlaki. And then we split a baklava sundae. She’s being cautious
with what she eats (doesn’t sound it here does it?) but getting braver by the
minute. She walked dogs earlier today and I thought another dog walk was in the
cards when we got home but a storm rolled in and a nap ensued instead.
Here's a picture from the Greek
Festival. It's nothing special as pictures go. Don't even know the people standing there. Probably should have gotten a picture of some of the food.
For those of you not familiar with Barley’s it’s a
local restaurant and brewery. In previous years after the Greek Festival and a
couple Mythos beers we’d stop by and have some local ale. Jeannie had water
this year (okay she had a couple sips of mine at the festival and afterwards)
but I sampled some of Barley’s fine product and we talked with one of the in
house brew masters plus a guy from Dayton. He’s a beer aficionado trapped here
while his wife was at a bachelorette party. He’s a civilian Air Force employee
at Wright Patterson AFB, a recent convert to home brewing and an all round nice
guy. Over the years we’ve met a lot of military personnel and civilian military
employees. They’re always great people. Too bad their elected overseers are of
such shabby quality.
Tomorrow a somewhat laid back Sunday, although I have
some firewood to split, Maybe a picture of firewood.
