More tests on the horizon

I spoke with someone today that deals with cancer patients through his business.  He remarked about how well Johnny is doing.  And it’s true.  Despite the fact that the Former Boyfriend is not currently (we’re working very hard on this part) curable, he is doing really well.

Johnny is looked after and checked on so much and it is next week that he is scheduled for scans.  Hopefully that will give us a true measure of how well our additional therapies are working and how much more we need to do.  Please keep the prayers coming because no matter how good you feel, it is still nerve racking to go in for testing.

And as I mentioned in last week’s post I’m currently in contact with Geoff Taylor of Winnipeg, Manitoba.  He has set up this site https://www.gofundme.com/9svgbdys-utm_sourc to raise money for Dr. Ko’s human clinical trials.  You can read about her work in Travis Christofferson’s book, Tripping Over the Truth.  And Geoff is also working to keep money flowing for additional trials (one that Johnny will qualify for).  We thank those of you who have already decided to donate, we sincerely appreciate it, it makes a huge difference.  I’m going to copy Geoff’s latest post from the GoFundMe site- Its best if you hear his words:

First ... a huge thank you goes out to all the people who "like" "share" and "donate" .

Second... I am going down to visit Dr. Ko in Baltimore. to triple check that what we are supporting is real and doable.

Third... since 3-BP is not easily protect-able and therefore impossible to get drug company investment, I am working on other funding mechanisms to make sure that after this initial clinical trial it will have continued funding.

This initial clinical trial has to be funded by people who care more about people more than money. Here is a picture from Dr. Ko showing how 3-BP (as a lactic acid mimic) interferes with HK (hexokinase) in the production of ATP (Adenosine triphosphate) which is the cell's basic energy. 95% of all cancers produce lactic acid by fermenting glucose. The 3-BP acts like a Tojan horse and sneaks across the cell wall killing the cancer. Normal cells are unaffeced.
