Over the
past weekend, our Nephew Michael and his Fiancée Rachel returned back home to
Virginia through a snow storm after staying with us for 2 special but extremely
frigid days. We truly loved having them
in our home and in our lives. Once they
were gone the house felt empty and silent.
Both Michael and I are addicted to the website Duolingo.com. Michael is brushing up on his Spanish and I
have started learning German.
It’s always
a bit rough in the days immediately after our visitors go home. A bit lonely. A bit sad. People often assume that it’s stressful or
taxing for us to have visitors, but the reality is that we love it. I guess we can attribute that to the caliber
of family and friends we have visiting too.
We are so lucky to have such loving and caring people in our lives.
Mike is a hard core M fan. So we made sure he got his first visit to the shoe. |
Of course,
we like to be on the move too. We’re
counting the days until we can get the RV out of storage and back out onto the
road. We’re looking at the travel
catalogs and plotting some special destinations.
I’m coasting
until the end of March with absolutely no doctor appointments. Yea!!!! But Johnny is continuing with his bi-monthly
chemotherapy treatments. After three
more treatments he will undergo another set of scans. His Oncologist, Dr. Mark Segal told him at our last appointment
that his tumor markers are down. This is
fantastic news! If his scans come back
clean in a few weeks that will leave us with a lot more treatment options.
Johnny
continues doing his bi-weekly hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments, nightly green
juices, exercise and ketogenic diet.
Together we will pursue all possible pathways of creating balance –
body/mind/spirit – to destroy the tumors and keep them from coming back.
