The month when I really hate pink

First, lots of positive. Thanks to everyone who’s joined me doing Chalene Johnson’s 30 Day Challenge.  I’m on day 15 setting some great goals and some mind-blowing goals.  And best of all…following through.  One goal in particular is a lot fewer doctor appointments in 2015.  I’m feeling great and love the support and accountability of having others play along in the Challenge.

Speaking of doctor appointments; I received the results from my echo-cardiogram. The test showed my heart is “grossly normal.”  What idiot who cares nothing about the patient psyche comes up with these terms?  But anyway I guess I'll take grossly normal over the alternatives.  The bottom line is further evidence that the chemotherapy did not damage my heart.  On Friday I had my follow-up full body thermography scan (the first was in June).  All my hard work and restrictive diets have helped.  Everything looked better on this scan except for my liver….so one appointment leads to another.

Finally, the Former Boyfriend and I are dreading Pinktober.  After everything we’ve gone through we believe this to be nothing but hype. We’re sick of pink ribbons and pink-washing of everything.  Pink is slapped on anything for a buck and it’s impossible to find out just how much of that money goes into research, if any.  Pink is runaway…and does not represent what it once did in the fight against breast cancer.  If any of you give to any of the “pink” causes – it’s your money. But please do not give to pink causes with me in mind.
