Football can be fattening?

This will be a short post today.  Everything is good and we’ve had a relatively quiet week.  On the medical front this afternoon I had Doppler scans for peripheral artery disease, aortic hernia, and carotid artery disease.  The initial results were good and I will receive the actual results by mail in a couple of weeks.  The Lifeline folks were kind and proficient which made for a nice experience.

Now, if there’s something you like there’s a researcher funded with tax dollars out there to demonstrate why it’s bad for you. And with the Super Bowl upon us (This year I really don’t care all that much) new studies are showing that watching football makes you fat (No, I can’t make this stuff up).  Actually the whole football season can pack on the pounds.  Research is showing that watching football and weight gain go hand-in-hand.  The sedentary lifestyle of watching football along with snacking/eating for hours at a time leads to significant weight gain.  And what the researchers are finding is that football is more to blame for the November – January added poundage than my beautiful Thanksgiving Dinner.  So before you RSVP to your favorite Super Bowl party…
